Visit the Towns of Fergus and Elora web site

Founded in the early 1830's, Fergus has a unique central core of buildings made of local limestone, built in the 1850's and 60's. The Grand River threads through the centre of town, originally there were a number of water powered mills along its course. Another special quality of Fergus was that its original settlers were almost exclusively Lowland Scotts, followed by Irish immigrants.
Along with nearby Elora, specialty stores and many artisan studio shops now are to be found in the renovated downtown areas.

Alternative Food ?

The CanIRON 8 site is mere blocks away from:
ï Downtown Fergus - with pubs and a variety of sit down restaurants.
ï Fast Food Strip - along highway 6 (you will drive past on your way north to the CanIRON 8 site)
